Advent & Communion Sunday
Sunday marks the first Sunday of Advent, a season of remembering Christ’s coming and of joyfully awaiting His return. We will begin a new Sermon Series: “The Good News of Christmas.” This Sunday’s theme is “Hope.” We will also share in Communion at the end of the service. We look forward to sharing this special and sacred season together.
Compassion Tree
The Compassion Tree will be in the HVA atrium throughout the month of December. Please consider taking an ornament and purchasing an item to help the Compassion Closet provide for the needs of foster care families in our community.
Helps Team
Do you have automotive repair skills? Enjoy providing meals? Are you willing to help someone move? Able to provide lawn care? Able to provide some simple home repairs? We are all gifted in a myriad of ways, and we have a place for you!
The Helps Team is a ministry designed to connect the resources (skills, abilities, and willingness) of the body of Christ with the physical, practical needs of the folks here at Immanuel Church. To learn more or to let us know how you can help, click here.
Join the VV1 Anchor Campaign
Sunday, October 6th, we kicked off the last leg, the anchor leg, of the VV1 campaign!
We are so thankful for how the Lord has provided and for your faith, generosity, and prayers in this great work. But with the finish line in sight, we don’t want to let up. Like the anchor leg of a race, we want to finish strong to the end.
So we are challenging the church to:
- Believe to the finish. Let us all continue to look to the Lord in this moment. Now is not the time to get distracted or to worry. Now is not the time to rest on our laurels or to put our faith in a new building. Instead, let’s keep our eyes on our sure and strong hope, our Savior and Lord, Jesus. He is our anchor. So let us “run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith…” (Hebrews 12:1-2).
- Pray to the finish. For this final leg, we want to pray like never before. We want to pray fervently and specifically and continuously. We cannot overstate how important this is. To that end, we invite everyone to sign up for a day to stop by the site and pray for our church… everything about it. (We will have specific prayer requests for you as well.) We hope to have someone stop by the site to pray every day through the end of December.
- Give to the finish. We’d love to make a final push to give towards closing the gap in the miracle million and beyond! You have given so generously, and we are so close to that million dollar goal. Plus, whatever we can give now will lower future monthly expenses and create new opportunities. So please pray about and consider giving toward the Anchor Campaign.

Kid’s Ministry Volunteer Needed

Help Us Move!
Throwing out boxes before the holidays? Tossing all of those Amazon boxes? We can use them! As we look forward to moving into the new building, we are needing large to medium sized boxes to help pack up the Ministry Center. You can drop them off on Sunday or throughout the week at the Ministry Center.
We are moving out of the Ministry Center Sunday, December 15th. If you are able to help please contact jared@iknox.org.
Community Spotlight
Hardin Valley Elementary Shoe Drive
Immanuel Church as been invited by HVES to help collect shoes for a shoe drive that will be donated to funds2orgs. Any type of shoe works as long as it is intact; this includes gently used or new shoes. They can be flip flops, sandals, sneakers, heels, flats, boots, etc. The deadline for this shoe drive this Sunday, December 1st, you can drop off shoes Sundays in the auditorium.
