Family Meeting Sunday 5PM
Join us for our next Family Meeting, this Sunday, October 19th, at 5:00pm at church. We will be voting on deacons, welcoming new members, as well as hearing some important updates. Also, please see “Help!” below.
Help!
We are finishing the floor in the Student Room (yay!), and we need your help.
Two ways you can help:
- Help move furnishings right after the Family Meeting, from 6:15pm-6:45pm. We need to move all its furnishings into a pod adjacent to the garage door.
- Monday and/or Tuesday Assistant. We need someone who could host and lightly assist the floor finisher on Monday and/or Tuesday.
If you would be willing to help Sunday evening, please just plan to stick around after the Family Plan.
If you would be willing to Assist Monday or Tuesday, please email Derek or Jared.
Thank you so much!
We’re Doing a Christmas Eve Play!
The scene is set as Matthew and John are discussing the birth of Jesus, each wondering how best to capture the wonder of Christ. In the Christmas Messiah, they come together at Bethlehem with the rest of us to hear the prophecies of the coming Messiah.
Character Needs
Speaking Parts: John the disciple, Matthew the disciple, and The Word [off stage narrator].
Other characters with no lines: Mary & Joseph, the Angel of the Lord, shepherds [2 needed], and wise men.
There will be three rehearsals. The play will be presented as part of the Christmas Eve service.
If you are interested, please contact Robert Warren (865-806-8858 or rahwarren@gmail.com).
Men’s Breakfast
Join the men of Immanuel on Saturday, November 1st, from 8:00–9:00 AM, for a morning of connection and encouragement. We’ll gather to enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast, to be encouraged by God’s Word, and to build and strengthen friendships with brothers in Christ. There’s no cost. Register here. And if you’d like to help with the event, contact Jared Raby.
Living Waters Men’s Group
Would you like to join a group of brothers pursuing sexual integrity? Living Waters is a group at Immanuel committed to helping men put off the old self, renew their minds, and put on the new self (Eph 4:22-24). By faith, prayer, study, and accountability, we flee sin and temptation by recognizing the greater life that exists in following God’s commands (Psalm 119:156). If you want to be part of Living Waters, please contact Scot Bellavia (scotbellavia@gmail.com) or Jared Raby (jared@iknox.org).
