Giving Sunday November 30th
Each year we set aside a Sunday in November to emphasize generosity and giving. In the past, this giving has focused on the building project. This year, with the building complete and with much gratitude in our hearts, we want to continue that spirit of giving. So we are inviting everyone to prayerfully consider making a generous gift to a ministry of your choosing, be that Immanuel Church, Quest Ministries, Future Foundations, Compassion Closet, or some other ministry or missionary on your heart. However the Lord directs you, we want to overflow with thanksgiving and generosity. As we approach November 30th, we will post links to various giving opportunities, but in the meantime, please be praying about how you might participate.
iKids Friendsgiving RESCHEDULED
Join us Sunday November 23rd from 3p-5p for an afternoon of fun, games, snacks and thankfulness. Come ready to play and bring a friend.
We would love to have your help with carnival style games and crafts. If you would be willing to serve our families in this way, please sign up here: Volunteer Sign Up.
We’re Doing a Christmas Eve Play!
The scene is set as Matthew and John are discussing the birth of Jesus, each wondering how best to capture the wonder of Christ. In the Christmas Messiah, they come together at Bethlehem with the rest of us to hear the prophecies of the coming Messiah.
Character Needs
Characters with no lines: Mary & Joseph, the Angel of the Lord, shepherds [2 needed], and wise men.
There will be three rehearsals. The play will be presented as part of the Christmas Eve service.
If you are interested, please contact Robert Warren (865-806-8858 or rahwarren@gmail.com).
Help for Hope Central
With the recent government shutdown, we would like to help those who lost food stamps during this difficult season. We have paired up with Hope Central to provide $25 gift cards to either Kroger or Walmart. If you could bring a gift card to help contribute to those needing assistance, there will be a box in the atrium to drop off Gift Cards. Email renee@iknox.org if you have any questions. If you had been receiving food stamps and are in need of assistance; please feel free to reach out.
iKids Volunteer Needed
Immanuel Kids Ministry could use your help! We are in need of two volunteers for the 10:30am. If you are interested in serving in the nursery once a month, please reach out to Sara at 865-310-8236.
Kid’s Corner
Every week we use God’s Word to disciple the next generation. We want to offer you the opportunity to have conversations at home about these lessons.
